This will be our final release for 2025. Our team is winding down after an action packed year filled with exciting new features, a fantastic aXcelerate Day, and countless improvements and fixes delivered across the platform.

Improvements
AI assisted marking for Multi Short Answer assessments
We’ve extended our AI assisted marking to include support for multi short answer questions to assist trainers in marking more learner responses efficiently and accurately. For further information on AI assisted marking, we recommend reviewing our dedicated AI assisted marking guide or submitting an expression of interest to join our AI beta program to access this feature.
Workshop scheduling terminology updates for improved clarity
We’ve added a new “Workshop Format” dropdown within the “Add New Workshop” page that replaces the previous date mode selector and introduced more relevant terminology for the scheduling types within this field:
- Basic is now Consecutive (Consecutive sessions with the same start and finish times.)
- Multi-session is now Non-Consecutive (Non-consecutive or irregular sessions which can be assigned alternate facilitators or venues.)
- Multi-Workshop is now Multi-Instance (Multi-workshop: Creates separate 1-session.)
These terminology updates have been made to reduce confusion and better reflect upcoming scheduling enhancements, while the underlying functionality of each format remains unchanged.
Improvements to the main Work-based Learning interface
We’ve expanded our Work-based Learning UI refresh to the Placements, Host employer and Configuration tabs, to improve usability and efficiency as well as to prepare for upcoming feature enhancements. These tabs now display using a table format for improving visibility and enabling additional filtering. Within the Placements tab, we’ve introduced the ability to filter by class, qualification and host employer, helping you find the right placements sooner. If you have feedback or suggestions to improve Work-based Learning, please complete our feedback form.
Accessibility enhancements across the Learner Portal and key admin areas
Multiple improvements have been made to enhance keyboard navigation and accessibility across the platform.
Accordion and side navigation components now support full keyboard navigation, improving usability on pages such as Course Overview, Assessment Marking, Form Builder, and Learner Course views. A new "Skip to content" feature has been added to the Learner Portal to allow keyboard users to quickly jump to main content. Additionally, dropdown fields now allow keyboard focus on the "X" clear button, and Expandable components in Learning Plans have been updated for improved accessibility.
These updates support a more inclusive experience for all users, particularly those relying on keyboard navigation
PDF viewer now available within assessment marking
Assessors can now open learner-uploaded PDFs within the marking area without downloading files or opening new tabs, streamlining the review process. To view an uploaded PDF, select the "Preview" icon. When multiple PDFs are uploaded for the same item type, assessors can choose which file to view, with only the selected PDF displayed.
Contact merge now supports organisational key roles
Enhancements to the contact merge feature now ensure Skills organisational roles used in, such as employer, payer, and key contacts, are preserved during merges, reducing administrative overhead and improving data integrity. This also applies to Managers and Alternative Managers for Skills.

AX-25473 & AX-25643 – An issue has been resolved where session attendance was not contributing to the attendance percentage on the class enrolment page.
AX-25610 – An issue has been resolved where unit enrolments were being duplicated when enrolling students into workshops.
AX-25628 – An issue has been resolved when changing between types of funding under Finance Model management triggered a validation error.
AX-25633 – An issue has been resolved where importing an organisation from Xero was creating a duplicate contact. The primary contact is now correctly set as both Key Contact and Payer.
AX-25634 – An issue has been resolved where Invoice Item Reports displayed a placeholder date (“01/01/1900”) for empty Service Dates.
AX-25641 – An issue has been resolved where the "View Duplicates" button did not work correctly when a duplicate finance code was present.
AXLB-1423 – An issue has been resolved where cancelled SCORM enrolments were prioritised over open ones in the Learning Plan, causing units to appear unavailable in the learner portal.
AXLB-1603 – An issue has been resolved where the Form Builder editor incorrectly converted some text into invalid links.
AXSO-49 – An issue has been resolved where duplicating a role set all competencies to "Additional" and required a page refresh for competencies to display correctly.
AXSO-857 – An issue has been resolved where recertification activities for Skills competencies were not functioning correctly when achievements had expired.
AXSO-903 – An issue has been resolved where the Authorisation status was automatically updated to "Invalid" upon submission of a Portfolio item.
AXSO-906 – An issue has been resolved where competencies achieved through Equivalency (via prior learning) were not displaying correctly.
AXSO-931 – An issue has been resolved where the progress bar for worker competencies displayed as fully complete when additional required competencies were still outstanding. This occurred when loading the role for the first time, causing the progress indicator to appear incorrect.

Improvements
Learning Onboarding form status now available in Workshop & Session Booking reports
‘Form Submission status’ display fields and filters have been added to both the ‘Workshop Bookings’ and ‘Session Bookings’ warehoused reports, making it easier to track learner onboarding progress for Workshop-centric courses, and follow up on incomplete submissions.
Tentative enrolments now supported in the new client portal
A new setting allows organisations to enforce tentative enrolments made by client users in the new client portal. When the ‘Enrol Learners as Tentative’ setting is enabled in the client portal tab of your system settings, all enrolments submitted via the portal will default to a tentative status, giving you more control over client-initiated bookings. Tentative enrolments made by a client user can later be confirmed by an admin user within your organisation.
Calendar view updated to display Primary trainer first
Workshop sessions in the calendar now clearly display the Primary trainer first and within a separate field, making it easier for administrators to identify the lead facilitator at a glance.
Edit Marked Attendance User Permission added
We have created a new Edit Marking Attendance user permission, to allow better control over which users are able to modify previously recorded attendance. Users who possess the existing Mark Attendance permission will still be able to mark attendance initially, but will not be able to change saved attendance unless they also have the Edit Marking Attendance user permission. This option will be automatically enabled for users who have the existing Mark Attendance permission and can be disabled within the Enrolments user permission.
New client portal workshop enrolment view
Client users can now view enrolment status and dates directly within each workshop in the new client portal, providing clearer visibility into participation and reducing the need for manual follow-up.
Students' TFN data has been removed
All stored student Tax File Number (TFN) data has been securely removed from the system inline with recent changes made by the Department of Education and Workforce Relations (DEWR).

AX-25432 – An issue has been resolved where uploading duplicate portfolio files with identical names would result in both files being deleted when one was removed.
AX-25522 – An issue has been resolved where certain workshops were inaccessible due to corrupted start or end date data.
AX-25591 – An issue has been resolved where Funding Code S04 was still available in the system; it has now been fully removed.
AX-25597 – An issue has been resolved where the API Payment Form endpoint did not return an error when applying a payment against a voided invoice.
AXLB-1426 – An issue has been resolved where required fields such as Disability Status and Prior Education were missing red asterisk indicators in Learning Onboarding forms.
AXLB-1519 – An issue has been resolved where the text editor did not correctly support splitting input by individual words, defaulting instead to split by all characters. Editors can now choose to split by words, improving control over how text is processed in learning content and forms.
AXSO-908 – An issue has been resolved where invoices for Skills enrolments into workshops and class enrolments were not generated consistently. The invoice generation process has been updated to ensure alignment with expected billing logic, reducing manual correction and improving financial reporting accuracy.
AXSO-785 – An issue has been resolved within Skills where managers encountered permission issues when attempting to launch as students in the Learner Portal.
GLO-132 – An issue has been resolved where class details in the new client portal were accessed using a legacy endpoint; retrieval is now handled via a new, more secure endpoint to improve data protection and align with updated API standards.
GLO-175 – An issue has been resolved where trainer roles were unable to see the academic transcript button due to a new permission being disabled by default. The relevant permission is now enabled by default for trainer roles, ensuring consistent access to learner transcript data.

Rich Text Descriptions within Learner Onboarding
We have now enabled Rich Text Descriptions within Section Description of onboarding forms, allowing all users to format their content with enhanced styling options for improved consistency and customisation.
Organisation logo added to new client portal navigation
The navigation bar within the new client portal will now display the organisation’s logo, providing a more branded bespoke experience. The organisation logo can be set using the Main Logo field within the Organisation Update page.
Preferred names now display within the new client portal
Preferred names have been added to the new client portal to enhance personalisation. These names will display within the Qualification & Workshop sections and users will be able to search for learners using their preferred name.
View Academic Transcripts user permission added
A new ‘View Academic Transcripts’ permission has been added to give more control within the Certificates permission group. Admin, Trainer, and Client users without this permission will no longer be able to view academic transcripts. Learners can still view their own, and the permission will be enabled by default for existing Admin, Trainer, and Learner users.
Portfolio types with ‘Never Expires’ enabled will no longer prompt for expiry dates within Onboarding forms
Portfolio types with the 'Never Expires' option enabled will no longer display the expiry field to learners within the onboarding form, providing a more intuitive experience for learners completing their form submissions.
Portfolio date fields renamed within Learner Onboarding
We have updated the naming conventions of portfolio items within the Learner view of Onboarding forms. The changed fields are as follows:
- “Start Date” → “Issue/Commence Date”
- “Expiry Date” → “Renewal/Expiry Date”
- “Completion Date” → “Completion/Award Date”
API improvements for FundingState updates via /course/enrolment endpoint
We have enhanced the /course/enrolment endpoint to support setting the Funding Source (State) for Unit Enrolments. This is done by including the fundingState parameter when the type parameter is set to 's' during a PUT request.

Sub-menu items have been added to Work Based Learning within the new navigation menu, allowing for quicker access to the Host Employers, Placements and Configuration screens from their dedicated menu items.
Retry Moodle E-Learning enrolments via Workshop Matrix
The ability to retry failed Moodle E-Learning enrolments for students with an 'Incomplete Online Booking' status has been added to workshop instances. Failed enrolments can be retried within the ‘E-Learning’ view on the workshop view page.
Virtual Classroom link now functions as a clickable URL
The [Virtual Classroom Link] template field has been improved to function as a proper hyperlink, eliminating the need for manual redirection steps and improving the learner's experience.

Improvements
Edit published Learner Onboarding forms Ideas Forum
We’ve introduced the ability to edit all fields and sections within published Learner Onboarding forms, including adding new and removing existing content.
This allows more flexibility and better control for admins to make changes to forms as required, without needing to create a new form or impact any completed enrolments.
Once a form is republished, any learners in-progress or who haven’t started the onboarding process will complete the updated form, while learners who have already completed the form will not be impacted or required to recomplete the updated form.

Additional Trainer filter and display field now available within the Class Report
Additional Trainer has been added to the warehoused Class report as a filter and display field, providing more comprehensive filtering options.
TFN field removed from Contacts and reports
Recent changes made by the Department of Education and Workforce Relations (DEWR) mean that RTOs are no longer required to collect or store Tax File Numbers for VSL reporting as the TFN is now passed through eCAF to TCSI directly. As a result, the TFN field has been removed from contact records and all associated reports.
New Funding Source Code P01 added for Work Skills Traineeships
The State Funding Source code: P01 – Work Skills Traineeships funded under Career Start has been added to the platform.
New Funding Source Code B04 added for Career Boost program
A new funding source code, B04 – Career Boost, has been added to aXcelerate in alignment with Program Schedule 4 – Career Boost.
Updated terminology from DETConnect to DESBT
All references to DETConnect have been updated to DESBT to reflect current naming conventions.

Auto Certificate Issuing has officially launched!
Our Auto Certificate Issuing feature is now out of beta, and has been fully released.
Auto Certificate Issuing enables the automatic issuance of Certificates to learners upon completing their Qualifications, helping you work more efficiently and ensuring that Learners receive their Certificates promptly.
Key Features:
- Certificate Issuing: The system can now be configured to issue certificates when the last Unit of Competency is marked as Competent.
- Advanced Configuration: Auto Certificate issuing can be configured at an individual Qualification level, and also enabled or disabled at a Class level, to give you full control of when and where you want to use it.
- Logging: To know how a certificate is issued or if it wasn't able to be and why, you can now easily track its status through the Certificate Queue and any outcomes via the Certificate Issuance Log.
Improvements since initial launch:
- Information and Logging of when and who enables the feature both overall and for each qualification.
- Certificate Issuance Log improvements for greater clarity between Admin-issued and System-issued certificates.
- Reporting on failed certificate issuance via the Failed Certificate Issuance Report.

Learner Portal mobile view improvements
Learners can now review and complete agreements more easily on mobile devices with a clearer, more user-friendly layout.
New navigation menu updates

Ezypay instalment details added to payment history
Ezypay subscription Past Payments information now displays ‘Paid’ and ‘Past Due’ instalments (excluding future payments) and includes the last four digits of the payment method along with the payment method type (e.g. Visa, PayTo, Bank) to provide additional visibility to administrators.
Expanded touch device support for navigation
We’ve improved how the new navigation behaves on touch devices by enabling collapsed menus to expand more smoothly and consistently.

The selected menu and sub-menu item will be highlighted within new navigation to display which area the user is currently visiting.
Update link to full contact search for multi-RTO search
Updated the new navigation contact quick search to link to a full multi-RTO contact search results page when the user has linked accounts, allowing these users to easily search across multiple accounts via the full contact search page while maintaining security and speed.
Improved Contact table sorting
Contacts tables will now display in order of the most recently created contacts first, making it easier to find new entries.
New navigation menu button tooltips
Explanatory tooltips have been added to some menu items to clarify their functions and provide further information to users.

Manage linked resources directly from the Qualification page
A Linked Resources section has been added to the Qualification Edit page, enabling users to easily access and manage existing linked resources as well as upload new resources to the library.
Quick search improvements in new navigation
A dedicated link, “Go to detailed results” has been added to the search results panel, enabling users to view and filter all returned results. Support has also been added to allow users to open a contact in a new window using Cmd + enter or Ctrl + Enter, or in a new tab using Shift + Enter.
FFT Funding Claim Spreadsheet formatting updates
Support has been added for the latest version QLD Fee-Free TAFE spreadsheet format within the auto contract reconciliation tool.
Learning Plan performance improvements
The loading time and performance of the Learning Plans list has been improved - particularly for accounts with many learning plans or linked classes.

Improvements to navigation hover behaviour when collapsed
When the navigation panel is collapsed by default, it will now remain open for slightly longer after you move your mouse away. This will help prevent the navigation from closing too quickly and make it easier to use.
Portfolio Entry ID added to Contact Portfolio reports
Portfolio Entry ID has been added as both a display field and a filter to the Contact Portfolio reports. This will allow you to identify and retrieve portfolio items by issue date and ID via the reporting interface and the API.

Offline Observation Assessments delivery within the aXcelerate App
Observation Assessments are now available while Offline, enabling you to deliver, mark and finalise your assessment submissions from anywhere, anytime. Assessments marked while offline will then sync and update within aXcelerate when you return online.
To download everything you need to go offline, navigate to your workshops or classes and select the icon in the top right of the screen to see more options, then select “Download Workshop/Classes data”.
Further planned improvements include bulk marking for multiple items and multiple learners and bulk finalising assessments. These improvements, along with offline support for marking criteria assessments will be added in a future release.
Award Issue Date now available in Workshop Certificate Templates
Award Issue Date has been added to Workshop Certificate Templates as a dynamic field so you can now include issuance date on workshop certificates.
'Incomplete Online Booking' message added to the Bulk Assessment Update Details Page
Assessment enrolments with the ‘Incomplete Online Booking’ status will now present a warning icon. This improves clarity and visibility for assessment enrolments that failed during enrolment and need to be re-tried.

Take payments directly within Learner Onboarding
It is now possible to add a payment step to your Onboarding forms, further streamlining your online enrolment process. Once added, the payment step will check the enrolment for any linked invoices with a balance, and will require the learner to pay the invoices before completing their onboarding and access to their course.
Improved Contact Search Filtering Ideas Forum
New filtering options have been added to the Contact Search results, allowing them to be filtered based on specific parameters, giving users the ability to apply additional criteria when searching for a specific contact, or a number of contacts with matching data.We have also reduced load times to help you see search results faster.
Display and attachment improvements for Contact Notes Ideas Forum
The interface for creating Contact Notes has now been aligned between the Contact and Workshop pages. Additionally, files can now be attached by ‘drag and drop’ more efficiently, and up to three attachments can be included within a single Contact Note.
Improved Workflow support for Agreements Ideas Forum
‘'Send Workshop Booking Agreement' and 'Send Contact Agreement' have been added as Workflow actions, allowing users to automate sending of agreements via Workflow for Workshop enrolments and agreements not linked to an enrolment.
New response options on Learner Engagement Survey for Question 44 (Gender)
ACER has released a new version of the Learner Engagement Survey, which includes additional response options for Question 44 (gender) These options include Female/Woman, Male/Man, Non-binary, Prefer Not to Answer, I use a different term (please specify). We have updated the relevant question within the system generated Learner Engagement survey to include these additional options. An alternative option will also be available for all radio-type answer questions when configuring Surveys
Parent/Guardian details now visible on contact profile Ideas Forum
Contacts linked to a Parent/Guardian contact will now display on the parent contact's profile under 'Other Information' to make it easier to see this information and navigate between the related contacts.
ANZSCO & ANZSIC fields within Learner Onboarding
ANZSCO & ANZSIC fields have been added to the Form Builder as part of the Schooling fields. The selection against these fields will generate data against the Employment and Occupation Identifier Vet fields on the learner’s contact page.

Ability to add links to Learner Onboarding forms
Clickable links are now supported in section descriptions, welcome messages, and completion messages in Learning Onboarding forms. This can be used to link to additional information like a privacy policy in your terms and conditions. For a link to be clickable, the full link must be included. For example: https://www.axcelerate.com.au/ would be valid but www.axcelerate.com.au would be viewed as plain text.
Display updates to mandatory fields in Learner Onboarding forms
The form viewer has been updated to improve the visibility of required fields and will now display a red asterisk against the field when previewing or completing a form submission.
Feedback button added to the Form Builder
A feedback button has been added to the Form Builder to allow users to provide feedback on this feature directly to the team here at aXcelerate. The new button can be found on the Form Builder page and accessed by clicking the Megaphone Icon.
Form Builder compatible custom fields tooltip
A tooltip has been added to the custom fields in the Form Builder to communicate which types of fields are compatible. Currently, Contact and Class Enrolment custom fields are supported for use within the Form Builder.
'Attending Other Schools' field updated to 'At School' within the Form Builder
The ‘Attending Other Schools’ field has been renamed within the Form Builder to align with AVETMISS terminology.

New Navigation enabled for all users
All users will see the new navigation menu by default, however the option to switch back to the classic navigation menu until later this year when the new navigation will be implemented for all users. To switch off new navigation open your user menu in the new navigation, now in the bottom-left corner. Click “Switch to classic navigation.” We recommend checking out our Get ready for aXcelerate's new navigation guide here.
Square logo option in New Navigation
A new square logo upload field has been added within the new navigation UI. This logo will appear in the navigation menu, account switcher, accessed by selecting the account logo in the top left corner, and login screen. If no square logo is set, the account's initials will be shown instead.
Agreements can now be resent
An existing agreement can now be resent using the Resend option within the Agreement section of the Contact page.
Allow Funding to be transferred between enrolments
Financial information related to funding claims and contract reconciliation can now be transferred between enrolments. This helps keep consistent government funding data when enrolments need to be transferred. This currently only works for per-enrolment type contracts, such as Smart and Skilled.
Retry enrolments directly from Assessment Class Matrix
With the addition of the new status "Incomplete Online Booking" in a previous release to help track when enrolments have failed mid-process, we are now rolling out functionality that allows users to retry enrolments into that learning starting via the Class Matrix once any issues have been addressed.

Our new Learner Onboarding feature is now available in aXcelerate - built to simplify the collection of learner information.
Learner Onboarding allows you to collect the bulk of a learner's details after enrolment, so you only have to collect the essentials upfront. That means a smoother enrolment experience, more learners in the door, and compliance confidence – all within aXcelerate.
With Learner Onboarding, you can:
- Streamline your enrolment form to increase your completion rate
- Capture required information, documents, and signatures before course access, without complicating checkout
- Track onboarding progress in aXcelerate
- Remove reliance on third-party web developers and give admins complete control to customise and manage forms within aXcelerate

Void invoice line items when cancelling workshop enrolments
When cancelling a Workshop enrolment, you will now be prompted to void line items linked to the enrolment if any exist. This helps you to clean up financial data after cancellations occur.
Customer paid Ezypay surcharges can now be included on invoices
To provide flexibility for handling Ezypay customer-paid fees, a new setting has been introduced under Ezypay settings in the Web & Other Integrations page to ‘Add Ezypay Customer Paid Fees to aXcelerate invoice post-transaction’. This setting allows customer paid fees to be included as a line item on invoices after transactions through Ezypay occur. This setting is disabled by default and will continue the current behaviour of excluding these fees from the invoice until the new setting is enabled.
Template Fields for Trainer Given name and Last NameIdeas Forum
Communication Template Fields have been added for the given name and surname of trainers. Previously only a trainer’s full name could be added, so this will allow you to do things like include the first name in the greeting of your email.

Webhooks Ideas Forum
Webhooks allow aXcelerate to automatically send real-time data to an external system when certain events occur in your account. This feature is ideal for keeping external tools and platforms in sync with what's happening inside aXcelerate, such as enrolments, contact updates, and completed assessments.

Help Requests: Improved messaging for learners with no requests
An informative message is now shown to learners when they open the Help Request widget and have no existing requests, improving user clarity.

The Calendar now includes the ability to filter displayed workshops based on their status.
Search by Unit Code within the Mapping Review Section
It is now possible to search for a Unit of Competency using the Unit Code within the Assessment Mapping Review section.
Workshop start and finish dates are now synced with session dates
Workshop start and finish dates are now automatically synchronised with the first session start date and the last session finish date. This will see the overall duration of the Workshop automatically increase or decrease in response to Sessions being added or removed.
Notifications widget display improvement
The notification widget has been updated to load and display 10 notifications at a time, to improve performance. To display more than ten, select the “Load more’ option.
Improved integrity of e-learning booking system for failed enrolments
Errors in e-learning or assessment enrolments will now create an incomplete booking contact note visible against the learner record for each failed attempt. The system will also periodically retry to enrol the learner into the activity.
Redirect to invoice view after creating a new invoice
After creating a new invoice, refreshing the page will no loner redirect users away from the invoice.
Assessment Task List loading improvements
Improvements to the Assessment Management view has been made to reduce loading times for assessments with a large number of tasks.

Timezone view in Calendar
The event times displayed within the calendar can now be updated by selecting an alternative timezone from within the settings icon. This will allow users in one time zone to easily view and create events within another timezone ensuring the local times are accurate. Previously an admin user in one location would need to manually account for any change in time when creating an event for a separate timezone.
Updated Victorian payments spreadsheet support in Auto Contract Reconciliation
The latest format of the Victorian payments spreadsheet has been added and can be uploaded directly within the auto contract reconciliation tool in aXcelerate
Improved AVETMISS error reporting
AVETMISS NAT file downloads have been optimised to improve validation handling. Both errors and warnings will be displayed, however, now only errors will be counted towards the display limit when Nat files are being compiled.
New funding source added for NSW
A new funding source (CFS) for NSW ACE reporting has been added.

Improvements to updating Workshop details
New options have been added to allow the Workshop Session Trainer, Primary Class Trainer, and Assessors to be updated on the Workshop section within the Trainers tab.
Added default Funding Source settings at the Class level
Default settings for Funding Source (National) and Funding Source (State) have been added at the Class level to streamline enrolment and reporting processes. The Default Funding Sources can be set within the Registration Form section of your System Settings.
Improvements to allow Domains to be created when setting up Partner Users
If there are no existing Domains within an account, the Partner’s page will now display a warning advising that a Domain must be created before creating Partner Users.
Performance enhancements for E-Learning records linked to class delivery
Performance enhancements have been implemented for e-learning records, particularly those linked to class delivery.
Improved detection of duplicate response identifiers in Fill-in-the-Blank assessments

New Authoring Experience Improvements
The new Assessment Authoring experience has several updates and fixes to improve the overall experience. Users can now edit model answers for ‘Short Answer’ and ‘Matching List’ questions in published tasks without unpublishing them.
We’ve released fixes for collapsed section cards and item numbering, restored media buttons to the section overviews, and expanded validation rules for marking scales, multiple choice and multiple items.
Load time improvements for the Organisation List and Class Matrix pages
Initial loading times for the Organisation List and Class Matrix page have been optimised, particularly for classes that include Online Assessments and E-Learning.
Improvements to the Contact Duplicate Merge message

The organisations search API endpoint now returns the orgOptionalId property and allows filtering by this field for enhanced search functionality.

- Autosave: Never lose your progress with built-in autosave functionality.
- Enhanced Validation: Always know what configuration steps remain with smarter validation, helping you save time.
- Modernised Layout: Modernised Layout: Navigate to the correct Items with ease with our new layout.

Two new Item Types are now available
As part of the Authoring experience improvements, we’ve added two new Item Types: Image Annotation, and Video Recording.
Image Annotation adds a new, interactive method of delivering content to Learners. This formative Item Type allows you to add annotated markers to an image that Learners can scroll through to learn more.
Video Recording requires learners to upload a video recording from their Desktop or Mobile device. This Item Type prevents Learners from uploading pre-recorded videos, ensuring that their video is taken in a live environment.
AI Item Title generation
You can now generate Item Titles based on the Item Text within the new Authoring experience if you are part of our AI program. This enhancement allows you to quickly generate titles for your Items based on the content authored within the description, increasing your authoring efficiency.
New navigation now available to try in Beta
We are excited to announce that the new navigation menu experience is now available for admin, trainer, and partner users to try out. Go to your user menu and click "Switch to new navigation" to enable it!
The New Navigation will:
- Make it easier to find what you're looking for- A new search that lets you quickly search navigation menu items and contacts, and can also be opened using the Ctrl + K keyboard shortcut (Cmd + K on a Mac
- Give you quicker access to the most heavily used parts of aXcelerate - When navigating to a menu item with a dropdown, the submenu will stay open, allowing you to easily switch between pages in the same area of the app.
- Help new staff learn how to use the system faster
Key changes include:
- Workshops, Classes (formerly Accredited Training), and Learning (formerly E-Learning) are no longer submenus of Courses but their own menus.
- Quality (formerly ‘Quality Goals / Tasks’) and Surveys are now their own menus, no longer submenus under Quality.
- Work-Based Learning and Help Requests are standalone menu items for faster access.

Marking UI Design Improvements
The Assessment Marking page has had continuous improvements to improve usability and experience. Importantly, the marking page should now be responsive across mobile devices including tablet & mobile.
Bulk download files included within an assessment submission
A "Download All Files" button has been added to the Assessment Marking interface, allowing assessors to bulk download all files uploaded by the student
Improved messaging within the Learner Portal Agreements tab
The agreements section of the Learner Portal has been updated to include a clarifying message to advise students they do not need to action any agreements if they have none assigned.
Performance improvements for warehoused Online Assessment reporting
Improvements have been made to the overnight reporting process to import Online Assessment data more efficiently. These reports will now run more reliably in the early hours of the day.
Assessors can now edit their own assessment notes
Functionality has been added to allow assessors to edit their own assessment notes directly on the assessment marking page.
AI short answer marking improvements
The AI short answer marking feature should now return student feedback using Australian English, and feedback should be more helpful and consistent.
Improved messaging when updating assessment enrolments
New error and success notifications have been added when cancelling, restoring, or updating assessment enrolments.
Question grouping for Assessment Printing
Question titles, text and numbers will be grouped when an assessment is printed to prevent splitting across different pages.
Improved Learner dropdown actions within Assessment marking
The Learner dropdown actions on the Assessment Marking page have been updated to allow interactions similar to a link (e.g. right-click or Ctrl + Click).
New display fields have been added to the Learning Plan Module Enrolments Report
Two new display fields, Module ID and Module Enrolment ID, have been added to the Learning Plan Module Enrolments Report.
Improve ordering of the Academic Transcript & API
We have made a minor improvement to the ordering of data within the Academic Transcript API.
Course Instances API endpoint updates
The /course/instances and /course/instance/detail API endpoints now include duration and durationType to allow information about the course duration to be viewed, added or updated.

AX-18618 - An issue has been resolved where the NCVER AVS upload/verification functionality was unavailable for some clients using the AVETMISS reporting interface. NAT files can now be optionally uploaded to AVS after the report has been run, instead of requiring validation type selection beforehand.
AX-20136 - An issue has been resolved where invoices including Partner Credits were not linked to the relevant line on the Credit Balance page.

AX-23214 - An issue has been resolved where users could not select non-accredited locations for accredited workshops.
AX-23223 - An issue has been resolved where switching Help Request views did not apply the new filters.
AX-23243 - An issue has been resolved where multiple virus scans were triggered simultaneously for resource uploads. The system now waits for each check to complete before queuing the next scan, and a timeout error message will now notify users instead of displaying an endless loading spinner.
AX-23254 - An issue has been resolved where completed eLearning activities appeared as "Not Started" in the Learner Portal catalogue.

Coming soon: Modernised Assessment Authoring!
We recently introduced our new Assessment Authoring experience. This update will bring a host of improvements to streamline your authoring workflow and enhance usability. We're thrilled to announce the new Authoring Experience will be rolled out for all Turbo users in our next release on 5 February 2025.

Currently, the new experience is available in your Staging environment, and you can also enable it in your Production environment via the 'Enable new authoring experience' setting found in the UI Settings tab of your System Settings.

Bulk Send Certificates to Third Parties Ideas Forum
Users can now send multiple certificates to specified Third Parties with the ’Share Certificates option when issuing or downloading certificates. This makes it easier to share certificates with an employer with multiple employees completing training.
Enable the ‘Share Certificates’ option to send multiple certificates to a specified user when issuing or downloading certificates.
The ability to send certificates in bulk when downloading will be made available for classes in a future release.
Complex Date fields replaced with Workshop Sessions fields in the Template Builder
Complex Date fields within the Template Builder have been renamed to Workshop Sessions to ensure consistent labelling throughout aXcelerate.
View Work-based Learning Evidence from the Unit Enrolment Page
The units table when viewing a learner's class enrolment now includes a direct link to view the Work-based Learning evidence associated with the selected unit. This helps users to easily see the relevant time and evidence recorded during placement for a particular unit enrolment.
Display Description of Items in the Assessment Library
The Name column in the Assessment Library now displays the Description alongside the title, allowing users to see additional context about items when searching.
Learner Portal Course Image API Update
We have updated the /courses API endpoint to return the URL of the 'Learner Portal Image' in place of the 'PrimaryImage' property specifically for Qualifications. Previously the property would always return as null.

Improvements
Preferred Name Support in Workshops and Classes Ideas Forum
Learners’ preferred names will now be displayed in quotation marks (" ") to help administrators and trainers reference them more easily while still maintaining the required data for reporting purposes.
Additionally, the search functionality will allow searches using both Preferred Name + Last Name and the existing First Name + Last Name options. These changes aim to standardise the use of preferred names, making it easier for trainers and administrators to locate and work with learner information.
Auto Certificate Issuing Reminder
A reminder has been added when enabling Auto Certificate Issuing at an account level. Now when the setting is enabled, the terms of usage will be displayed and the system will track the User that has enabled the feature by adding a Contact Note to their Profile.
Reporting Delivery Location in Classes
The Class update page now includes the Reporting Delivery Location field, allowing Administrators to determine the specific Delivery Location details that will be included in NAT files when running AVETMISS reports for enrolments within the Class.
Improved video playback behaviour in the Learner Portal
HTML videos in the Learner Portal will no longer automatically play or preload unless included via embed or iframe. This reduces lag and excessive bandwidth use when multiple videos are embedded.
Template fields for Funding Sources
Two template fields related to Funding Sources have been added to the template builder, “Funding Source National Name” and “Funding Source State Name”. These will enable more accurate information in templates.
Marking Interface Improvements.
A collapse button has been added to the left panel in the Marking interface, allowing for more screen space when navigating submissions.
