Confidentiality of student notes
I know this has been raised before (2 years ago) but nothin seems to have been done to address thiss matter.
There are many instances where confidential student information needs to be stored.
If we cannot limit access and it is simply in someone's email it often gets lost and the student support (a requirement of CRICOS) is not able to be provided as required as those who need to know do not.
This really is required in the system

Being that the current notes system has been developed with student notes in mind, it is disappointing we don't have the functionality to limit note types the same way that we can limit saved reports. It would be fantastic if we could limit specific note types to roles within our instance so that we can control what users see under a students profile.

Hello,
We also fully support this post - we currently have a Google Sheet 'Confidential Notes register' limited to certain staff members to view, as we cannot put these in aXcelerate. We then right a note ie 'Confidential Discussions / Note listed on external Register - seek approval from an Executive Member for further information.' .
It would be great to remove any additional manual steps and limit visibility by 'Note Type' for certain User Levels. OR When adding a Note, you could select 'Private Note' and then it's an option in several User Permission Levels to select / not select this and either add/view/edit/update etc like many other functions in aXcelerate.
Thanks
Amber

Everyone, students and staff have the right to privacy. There are many situations, particularly around medical, where students have disclosed information only on the basis that senior management is to be aware and do not want (or is relevant for) general staff to have access to this information. There are multiple reasons why aXcelerate has permission levels for its users so it makes sense that notes (official records of a student) also have the same ability to restrict certain information in a student record to all users.
Currently Staff are required to remember to complete documentation in a completely different system, or for fear of disclosing something they shouldn't in the wrong place the information simply gets lost / not passed on over time. It defeats the purpose of having the one "go to" system for everything to do with the student.
