Certificate printing & emailing
Our RTO emails out a digital certificate when they have finished the qualification, and then a few weeks later we print the certificates onto pre-printed backgrounds (only prints the text onto our pretty certificate background) to post out to the student.
This results in three problems:
1. We have to create/issue TWO certificates (one with the background and one without)
2. Because the printed one is the 'most recent' one - then the students access this 'not-pretty' version in Axcelerate instead of the pretty/digital version. To fix this issue we would then need to create/issue a THIRD certificate to mimic the emailed one.
3. Each certificate has a different certificate ID number which generates questions about 'which one is correct'.
Possible solution - it would be great if we could issue one certificate and then be able to 'turn the background on/off'. This would allow us to have one certificate that could be printed and emailed and would have the same certificate ID!
Thank you for listening!

We also issue digital and pre-printed background certificates and find the process of having 2 Certificate IDs and having to make sure the digital one is generated last to be problematic.
We would also like the option to be able to utilise the same certificate ID for both versions of the certificate.
One thing we do which is helpful is we generate the pre-printed certificate first, then the digital one.
Perhaps your team could do that, even if they don't physically print it at that time.
Hopefully we will be able to get a better option from ax8.

I had a similar post a couple of years ago. Mine was about only displaying the digital certificates in the learner portal and not the print certificates, but the same principle could be applied to emailing certificates.
A simple checkbox when creating a certificate template (show in learner portal Y/N, allow email via templates Y/N) would be a good fix.
