Certification permissions - ability to delineate AQF (Accredited) Certification vs general (non-accredited) Certificates
We find it problematic that the Certification Permission Group applies to all types of Certificate Templates - both AQF (accredited) Certification such as Parchments, Transcripts, Statements of Attainment AND generic (non-accredited) Certificates such as Certificate of Attendance, Certificate or Participation.
We regularly run non-accredited workshops for students who are also enrolled in Accredited training with us. For these non-accredited workshops for which we issue Certificates of Attendance.
To minimise compliance risk of staff issuing AQF Certification documents when they shouldn't, we should be providing only one or two staff permission to add, update or delete Certification documents. However, we need a broader group of staff - including our Student Support Officers to be able to generate the basic non-accredited Certificates of Attendance, often on the day of the workshops being held.
We would like to see this permission set somehow split out based on the Certificate Type (i.e. Qualification certificates able to have a higher level of restriction than Workshop certificates).
Not being able to split these permissions poses either:
a) a human resource work load / bottleneck issue if even non-accredited workshop certificates need to go through one person; or
b) a compliance risk of too many people being able to issue AQF Certification.
