Deep Edit assessments with instances attached
AnsweredWe have had numerous issues with rushed assessment builds resulting in errors. I cannot edit assessments (other than basic textual changes). It would be really handy to be able to do deep editing to fix issues. The "compliance issues" associated with deep edit is far less of a concern than having to copy/build-fix/reattach to classes and the time it takes.

Instead of creating a new assessment, you can go into the published assessment you need to fix and above the first question to the left, you'll see "Version 1.0". If you click on this, you can create a new version of the assessment. However, my understanding is that when this new version is published, it will only fix up the assessments that are not "In Progress".
In another LMS that we use, we have the option to deploy new revisions to "In Progress" students but this would remove all their saved work from their assessment and they had to start again in the new revision.

Thanks Mason,
However am I missing something. The method you suggest doesn't allow for a deep edit, as I hope.
For example a Hot Spot q where the image has a fault but which doesn't really change the question cannot be fixed in the method you describe. As mentioned you can only do a shallow edit eg I cannot replace the image.
..at least as far as I can tell.

Hi Martin
Assessment versioning is a new feature which was released just last week.
This is the feature that Mason is referring to. How it works is that a new version gets put into draft mode, which should allow updating of the assessment as if it were a brand new assessment that has never had any enrolments.
I will turn this post into a support request and have a member of the team reach out to you.
Kind Regards
Mark
