Learner Portal communication like messenger

It would be great if the learner portal had an inbuilt message service between student and trainer(s). We have seen this in other systems we have used and it was a fantastic feature. Rather than the student emailing from an external system the messages are all held in their learner portal and easily referenced. It also would then back up to the learners profile.

Ideally we want to keep as much in the one system as possible.
