Adding a Qualification Release Number field etc to the Qualification Creation/Update area

It would useful to have a "Release Number" field added to the qualification update/creation area in aXcelerate.

Currently the only place to record a qualification release number is in the qualification stream field.

Here are a few reasons why having a custom field option or adding the release field to the qualification area would be a desired development:

· It is not ideal for the release number to be displayed on the qualification (especially in its current format), i.e. qualifications that already have a stream result in the stream and the release number being displayed across the qualification (the name becomes very long).

· It is not a requirement to have the release number on the qualification

· When a qualification has a new release all students must be either completed or transitioned within 12 months of the new release. Having this field will enable us to track release numbers in reports etc and assist RTO's with meeting teachout/transition requirements when there is a new release. Currently there is no way to manage these students transition or teach out, we can’t even run a report or have a dashboard to track releases and also their start and end dates

· In addition, It could be possible to add "Release Start Date" and "Release Teachout/Transition Date" fields which could  stop anyone from enrolling, updating outcomes outside of the release start and end dates.

 

If adding the specific field/s into the qualification area would take some time, in the interim giving RTO's the option to add custom fields in the qualification area would be massive, then we could do this ourselves until that time they can be added.

  I support this idea with so many thumbs up. 

  Every point on this post is so valid for compliance.

  Qualifications are getting more complex and updates are hard to track so having a way to note release dates on qualification and reflect this down to student enrolments would be amazing.

  Especially when some quals have so many electives that need to be added to the streams (which is still a bit of a pain to use) and then update these with new releases.

  @aXcelerate. Could allowing custom fields in the qualification be an easy fix to all of this?

  Any chance this could please be considered by the Devs?

  Please add a custom field that allows us to create more than 1 version of qualifications, not just rely on having different stream names.

   

  It is a typical trend now that units - even core units are being changed between releases.

  This changes the packaging rules, and the system doesn't allow you to currently track 2 different releases of a qualification that includes a stream, because the only workaround solution I've been offered is 'add the release details to the qualification stream'.

  This would mean the qualification name would appear like this on a Certificate:

  Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Supervision) Release 2

  That is not the qualification name, meaning the certificate is not compliant, so this is not a viable workaround for this issue.
