File Notes - Need to return the function for most recently edited file notes to save to top of the list
Love that file notes now show who last edited them, we've been adding dates and our initials to notes as we edit them to show the progress of information overtime.
However the change that now a newly edited file note no longer jumps to the top is not ideal, RTO's need to see what the most current status of a student is at all times. If newly edited notes can be on page 2 or 5 of a student's page then they will be missed.
Please adjust your latest change back so that newly edited notes always appear at the top of a students file notes.

I disagree with this request and hope that it doesn't change back.
The ability to edit a note is valuable if a user needs to add more detail/description of the event that was not originally included or to amend spelling errors etc...What was wrong with the editing function is that it changed the input date of the note which subsequently changes the sequence of notes/commmunications/events related to that particular contact . This fix addresses everything that was wrong with the ability to edit notes.
In your use case you could consider creating a new note or using a particular note type instead of editing an existing note.

After a few weeks of using this new file note system, we are definitely finding that the way that all notes are saving in their original spot is not as much of a problem solver as you might find it Calvin. I can understand with some notes where you are simply making a spelling correction then this would be great, however maybe users could just use the Grammarly plugin to ensure they are not making spelling mistakes.
We use file notes to track a student throughout their learning journey, so many notes about a student that we have always updated and used to track their payments, enrolments and ongoing conversations about their status etc are now being updated but are being saved way down the system. Which means you have to update notes and also add a secondary note to log something on the system as more recent.
It would be better if there was an option to make a choice to resave the file note in its original position or save it to the top of the list if necessary. This would give users such as Calvin the functionality they want and also give users such as our organisation the functionality we already had and enjoyed.
