Auto set "Funding source (National)"
When enrolling a contact in a program/class, can the "Funding source (National)" be removed and, instead, simply auto-set based on the "Funding Source (State)"? In Victoria at least, each Funding Source (State) is attached to a specific Funding source (National). If this is the same for other States, then it should be possible to remove the Funding source (National) selection altogether from the enrolment process, and just report it in the AVETMISS file automatically based purely on the selection at the State funding source item.
This will remove an unnecessary step from the enrolment process; and eliminate human error (operators entering conflicting information in the two Funding Source fields).

Hi Cindy,
Unfortunately 'hiding' this critical AVETMISS required field is then going to cause problems for RTOs that mainly offer Fee for service or International students. One thing that you can do is auto set the 'default' AVETMISS enrolment selections that you want to display whenever you enrol a student by going to Settings --> System Settings --> Registration Form tab; Scroll to the bottom and you will see the AVETMISS select fields to set as default. This will at least enable you to set the most commonly used AVETMISS settings that users make. However, there is also common practice with many RTOs to NOT have fields set as defaults as this then causes 'laziness' in staff and they don't need to think through what should be the selections for each specific enrolment.
Hope this helps.

Hi Cindy, unfortunately, not all state training authorities provide comprehensive lists of funding sources that they accept, let alone a list that links them with the appropriate national funding source. That's not to say that your suggestion couldn't be done—we would just need to carefully consider how this should work when this data is not available. Thanks for the suggestion!

In aXcelerate, each of the (Victorian) "Funding Source (State)" items appears in the drop-down list under a heading which is the "Funding Source (National)" that they fall under.
Perhaps it is not as neat as that for other states; however it must be possible to at least set a default for those that are known (e.g. the Victorian ones) and just leave it blank where there is no known link.
I know of another SMS that sets the Funding Source (National) automatically in this way.
