Online Learning Only Options

We would like to request an option within aXcelerate to support online-only courses without requiring a scheduled date or workshop setup. Currently, the system still requires a date-based workshop instance, which causes confusion for candidates enrolling in and completing online-only training or professional development. We have recently moved all our Online PD into aXcelerate, and this limitation has made the process challenging. Our candidates are expected to self-enrol into the instance, complete the online learning, and receive an automatically issued dummy SOA upon completion. However, because these courses must be created as a workshop with a course date, the automations do not trigger until after the workshop date, which significantly delays completion outcomes. An online-only course configuration would greatly streamline this process and improve the learner experience.

We understand that online learning in aXcelerate must have a Unit of Competency attached, which we have accommodated by creating the required units as internal UoCs. This ensures each course is structured correctly within the system; however, the current workshop-based setup still creates barriers for smooth automation and timely completion processing.

  Hi Kayla,

  Does it need to be against a workshop? Can it just be a class that they self-enrol into?

  Hi Tomos,

  We are happy to move forward with either option here.

  We are currently experiencing an issue with class enrolments. If a client wishes to purchase a bulk number of these courses, we are unable to provide an enrolment link outside of the class that allows their staff to self-enrol online. We have been advised that either the client organiser or our team would need to be enrolled in the class in order to issue the enrolment link, which is not an ideal solution.

  Class option would need to be able to be accessed publicly and by in-house clients.

  While the workshop setup works well in many respects, our preference would be to have automatic certificate issuance linked to these workshops. Unfortunately, this does not function as intended due to the auto-issuing date triggers not being supported.
