Duplicate Contacts in New Entries via Bulk Upload
When enrolling students for in-house workshops, we’ve encountered an issue where duplicate contacts are created if the submitted information doesn't exactly match what's already in the system.
Currently, one of the options for detecting duplicates is by matching USI, Given Name, and Surname. While the inclusion of the USI in the matching criteria is helpful, this method doesn’t account for variations in given names. One common issue is when a list is submitted using only a nickname, for example "Stephanie" entered as "Steph" or "Thomas" as "Tom".
It would be very useful to have an option to determine duplicates by matching Surname and USI only, which would improve accuracy and help prevent duplicate entries caused by name variations.
I hope this could be considered in future updates.

Hi Helen, while that is possible, it may result in the creation of duplicate accounts if existing users have changed their email addresses.
Hopefully, the developer can consider using surname and USI for matching, as these are typically the most consistent data points provided by clients. I can't rely on USI alone, as some clients don’t provide it.
