Print assessment in one step.
Currently, printing an assessment—whether it’s a blank version, an assessor guide, or a student record—requires the following:
-
The assessment must be published
-
An instance of the assessment must be created
-
At least one student must be enrolled in that instance
And to print the assessment, here are the steps:
-
Go to Assessment > Management and select the assessment
-
Choose an Assessment Instance that has at least one student enrolled
-
Click Mark
-
Click Begin Marking
-
Click Print
-
Select either Student Record, Assessor Guide, or Blank Assessment
-
Click Print
This process can be cumbersome when trying to review, validate, or distribute assessments ahead of delivery. It would be incredibly helpful to:
-
Allow printing of blank assessments and assessor guides without requiring an instance or enrolments
-
Provide a print option directly from the Assessment > Management page, or from the assessment’s edit view
-
1000% agree. This is one of the most frustrating aspects of my interaction with axc, and makes me want to go back to paper based resource development. The ability to print a draft to a document (not PDF) for sharing and review should be a core part of the authoring experience - after all, assessments are what makes the world go around and they are cumbersome to develop/review/update at the moment.
Even better would be the ability to send a link to the item for others to review and add comments on the platform (similar user experience to Articulate Rise) could be considered.
I would also love to be involved in any further development of the authoring function.... granted axc started as a student management system, and it does some great reporting, but there are some functions from other author tools we've used in other settings that would be great to see here.

Better printing functionality would drastically help but I would also like to suggest a format that lines up with existing .doc or .pdf formats for ease of printing something useable as well. Currently formatting to pdf and then word is a roll of the dice depending on how your assessments are setup. Perhaps content areas that fit to an A4 size with no footer's or headers unless selected for print would help structure the document for printing. In the spirit of better version control and less paper, could there be a version 0.0 or review version before publishing? That way elements can be tested and enrolled to people for review being going live? This may lessen the need for printing for review purposes and help trainers or sme's see the product as it is intended in the axcelerate environment.

Absolute necessity, the current process does not support the development and required pre-validation functions that instructional designers must carry out. The current process see's us develop materials in other programs and copy them into the LMS in order to allow us to meet both organisational and VET expectations.
