Parent/Guardian Details
I just wanted to say it is awesome to have parent/guardian details now added to the contact list. Noticed that it is pulling dynamic field of phone and not mobile for parents. It will also be awesome if you can add sending text and email to parents of students as an option box like you have with alternative email.

Almost all our students are under 18 so when every communication goes out, we also need to send to parents and well as students. Our students are mostly in high school, so we need to notify VET coordinator in school too. Our communication is via text messaging and emails.
Looking at what has been created, once we add the details for parents ie name, phone number, email it creates a profile. For us it is not necessary to create a parent profile because we then need to sort through it all and deactivate at the end of the year when the students have finished, however details can still exist under student profile and once the student turns 18, we do not need to further communicate with the parent unless it is to invite them to graduation or other events held with us.
When sending out emails it would be helpful to have a tick box as such just underneath my name. This way we can choose if we want to send to parents or not.
The same goes for text message if the parent number can appear under the student as and tick option box. This way we can choose to send to parents.
To explain a bit further at the moment we have set up student profile under “MOBILE” we have added parent mobile as while the student is under 18, we have to communicate with parent. The student mobile number is set up under “HOME.” This means we can’t text students as well as parents from aXcelerate. We communicate with students under other platform (SMS Broadcast). It would be so handy to send text messages to both parent and student out of aXcelerate and be able to receive text emails.
Emails have the same issue, but we again have set up slightly different under student profile. The “EMAIL ADDRESS” contains parent email and the “ALTERNATIVE EMAIL ADDRESS” contain student email address. When sending emails freeform emails in pic 1, we copy and paste the alternative email and can send but again it would be handy to have option to select parent email address from the right-hand box.
The next part is sending template emails. As we have set up our email as above, when we send our email template, we can tick “copy to alternate email” which means we can attach students and parent in the one email. However, it would be good to be able to tick a box to say send to parents as well.
Lastly as a side note we deal with high schools, and we have set them up under “organisations”. We communicate with VET (Vocational Education Training) Coordinators quite a lot as students are still in high school and we have to keep the school in loop. At the moment I attach the VET coordinators under “Coach/Mentor”. However, as we have the VET’s as “key contact” under organsation, when we send template emails out, we can attach the coordinators. It would be wonderful to have a section like parents for VET coordinators too where we can choose to attach to be included in messages. Idea would be to create something like the address section under “Parent/Gurdian” but also have the VET set up for communications we all again with option to choose if we need to set emails/texts to VET coordinators. I understand majority of aXcelerate clients will not need this function, but it can be used for many other things.
