I agree. It would be really helpful if there were an option to edit the model answer again. Creating a new version of the assessment is not applicable and advisable for us because according to the Assessment versioning:

    • When the assessment is published, any classes where all learners have not started this Assessment will have their instance moved to the newer version.
    • If any learners in the class have started an attempt for this assessment, that class assessment instance will not be updated to the latest version

This will not allow needed revision to assessments of previously enrolled students or the said class. Would be better if we could continue to make minor adjustments or changes to the current version of the assessments. Hope this will be fixed soon because it also causes delays to student's progress with their learning plan. Thanks

    Hello Mark,

I am still unable to edit the model answer. For example for fill-in-the-blanks, I am unable to add alternative answers. Thanks

    Hi Ivy

Thanks for getting back to me. I can confirm that we did not update edit mode to allow changing fill in the blank answers.

We're concerned that the following could occur:

    1. The FIB question originally has its answer set to "Spanner"
    2. Student completes the assessment and answers the FIB question "Spanner"
    3. The student's question is marked correct
    4. The FIB question has its answer updated to something else eg "Measuring tape"
    5. The student's submission would now look wrong - the submission would reflect "Spanner", it would be marked correct, yet the correct answer would show "Measuring tape"

We're worried this could cause compliance issues at audit time.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the above scenario.

    Thanks
    Mark

Our purpose is to only add alternative answers because sometimes students' answers is technically correct but are getting incorrect due to space or dash or minor spelling issues (American, Australian etc spelling)
For example: The original answer was "personal protective equipment" or "PPE" and the student answered "Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)". "Esophagus" and "Oesophagus". We wanted to include them to the options so as not to waste their attempt especially if this is the only question they got incorrect.

If this is being restricted due to compliance issues, automatically transferring students to the latest version regardless of the attempt started by the student or on a class would be good without affecting the assessment of students who already completed them.
