Merge Mailout Group Improvements

Can we create a merge mailout group based on common fields other than Organisation or Category?

E.g. if we want to contact our old un-enrolled student-leads: they don't have a category or organisation (most of the time), meaning that in order to contact them in bulk, we have to go back and manually assign categories. Very time consuming as the number is in the hundreds.
