It would also be good to have some of the features from the other assessment types such as checkboxes for certain observable items.

    Example:

Which the following pieces of equipment did the student use:

    • whisk
    • scales
    • bowls
    • utensils

    Hi Michael and Liz

    Thank you for your feedback.

We actually have a feature called "Observation Conditions" that is reaching the later stages of development.

Conditions will ship shortly after our new Assessment Authoring improvements. Note that they aren't/won't be supported in the old trainer app (but will of course be supported in the new aXcelerate app).

I have enabled both features in each of your staging accounts so that you can try them out.

Looking forward to any feedback that you have.

    Cheers
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for this.

I have a couple of questions:

     - is the "Observation with Comments" going to be available so that the assessor enters the information (e.g. I can add the checkboxes and the assessor can tick off listed items such as ingredients) ?

     - when I preview the "Observation with Conditions" I don't see the conditions in the preview. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Liz

    Thanks for your feedback.

Can you provide a bit more detail about "Observation with comments"? Do you mean the Assessor makes the conditions on a case-by-case basis rather than pre-authoring them in the LMS?

Regarding the Assessment preview, it historically represents what the student would see - however the observation conditions are only interacted with by the Assessors. Learners don't actually complete Observation assessments so we haven't added this to the preview yet.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi Mark

I have tested further and now that I have created an instance, I can see the conditions available during marking.

I initially misunderstood the use of preview.

    Thanks
