Assessments - allow order by outstanding marking
To quickly find outstanding marking for a particular assessment, we search for it in the assessment screen, see the number outstanding and then scroll through the instances.
Can we please make it possible to order the list by assessments with outstanding marking.
That way we do not need to scroll through potentially hundreds of instances.
yes - we have workflows that email once student submits, however it is so much easier to do it via this screen.

Hi Ash
Thanks for your feedback. We've got a much better method of finding the assessments that need marking coming very soon, I'll be sharing more details at aXcelerate day.
In the meantime, can I ask you some questions regarding this?
- Are your assessments typically marked by an assessor assigned to the task? Or do you have assessors who have global permissions that can mark submissions even when they're not assigned?
- Do your assessors mark on an assessment task basis, a course instance basis or something else?
Eg Do they look for all submissions for GUI - Assessment task 9, regardless of date?
Or instead do they look for all submissions from Generic Underground induction on the 14th of October?
Looking forward to your feedback.
Thanks

Hi Mark,
If the trainer is also the assessor on the course - they will complete marking via the class screen (view - assessments) and mark assessment by assessment (all students). So the assessor on the 14th GUI, will mark the 14th GUI assessments.
Assessors should only be marking what they are approved to, however that does not always mean they are the assessor on the course, as this relies on admin setting it up correctly - our RTO team essentially has global permission and we can mark anything. (this allows us to assist troubleshooting with trainers/students / mark LLN etc). However, where we have different assessors marking - either post-course or pre-course work we rely on email/workflow notifications. Example - pre-course LLN that's marked by RTO, or post-course diploma work marked by one assessor for all students. We ask the admins to have the correct assessor, however this is manual and can be forgotten.
The email/workflow is great, however it requires multiple steps (find student, find assessment, click mark etc) and that the assessor is correct (which we have many issues with move/transfer not updating).
Ie - I had 9 LLN quizzes I marked this morning - I just looked for the outstanding assessments in the assessment screen, instead of the above steps via emails. (these were across 3 instances). The ability to search for "LLN" then order by "not marked" - means I can just check it daily vs go through 10+ emails. I am not the allocated assessor for any of these - the email goes to a generic email once submitted and is picked up by a member of the team. Note: we have 44 workshop instances set up for this LLN assessment, it is only in one course so far, this process was implemented late July 2024.It would also be amazing if the emails/fields for workflows could be a lot more specific - ie. Name of Assessment (not code id), name of student (not ID), name of assessment instance (not ID).
This would allow us to easily see what we are looking for / did we already do it - versus copying it into aX to see. Likewise, if the email goes to the incorrect assessor - they can forward it to the correct assessor. Thanks Ash

Hey Team,
I have just noted that this is now even harder than before. We used to have the number, so we knew how many were outstanding. Now there is just a little blue dot on the assessment, so we are needed to scroll, flick through pages to search, without even knowing how many we are looking for.
You can see in my original picture, this had 9 in the Task description on the left. Now that's a dot.
Can we please put this back?
The new assessment marking system we are unlikely to use as it doesn't work for our assessments (observations marked by trainers, not submitted by students). So its important to us that this screen stays the easiest to use for our assessors and assessment types.
