Question Banks allow you to group Items together and quickly deploy the entire bank (or a subset) in an Assessment Task.
For example, if you had a Question Bank of 20 questions, you could elect for each Learner to receive only 5 of the questions, enhancing the academic integrity of the Assessment.
Question Banks are tied to Base Assessment Types, meaning that you can’t use a Question Bank with Quiz Items in an Observation Assessment.
Like Items, Question Banks can be reused across multiple Tasks.

Using Question Banks
Question Banks are inserted into Assessment Tasks and exist within their own Sections. The Items delivered to Learners are determined when a new attempt is started.
If the Assessment Type setting 'Build on Attempts' is enabled, then the Items are determined on the first attempt, and will remain the same for future attempts.
To randomise the Items upon each Assessment attempt, disable the 'Build on Attempts' setting against the Assessment Type.
To use a Question Bank:
- Navigate to the Authoring page of an Assessment Task
- Select Add Question Bank
- Select a Question Bank from the list
- Review the Items within the Question Bank and configure the options on the left
- If you wish to deliver a random subset of questions, use the Number of Questions to include option.
- Click Save to insert
To modify the options later, click Settings.
Note: It’s possible to use multiple Banks in a single Task, however each bank will need its own section.
