The competency matrix allows users to easily track, view and update a trainer's competencies for all programs stored within your aXcelerate system.

Add a qualification to set a trainer competency
Before being able to set a trainers competency in a qualification or unit within a qualification, you must first add the qualification to the trainer's list.
- Click the Add Qualification dropdown
- Search and select the qualification you wish to add
- Click the Add button
Tip: If your qualification is not appearing in the list, please ensure that it is in your scope in aXcelerate. For further information on your qualifications, please see our Qualification Management article.
View all units within a qualification
By default, if a qualification has competencies set for units, only those units will display in the preview. You are able to expand this if you need to add trainer competencies to additional units. Alternatively, if no competencies are set for units, this qualification will need to be added to the table, then all units will display.
- Locate the qualification containing the units you wish to see
- Click the Expand button
Set competency for all units in a qualification
- Click the Checkbox directly aligned with your Qualification
- Repeat step 1 for all required qualifications
- Select the applicable Competency Level from the dropdown
- Click Submit
Tip: If you cannot see a qualification in the table, please ensure you have added the qualification to the list.
Note: You must allocate a trainers competencies and level of competency in the Competency Matrix before you can allocate evidence in the Evidence Matrix.
Set competency for select units in a qualification
- Click the Checkbox directly aligned with the Unit
- Repeat step 1 for all required units
- Select the applicable Competency Level from the dropdown
- Click Submit
Tip: If you cannot see your unit/s in the table, please ensure you have added your qualification to the list. Alternatively, if you have an inactive unit you wish to allocate competency to, you will need to click the Show Inactive button to see this.
Note: You must allocate a trainers competencies and level of competency in the Competency Matrix before you can allocate evidence in the Evidence Matrix.
