Has anyone had students answers to marked assessments disappear?

Hello - I realise this is an ideas forum, however has anyone had students lose all their answers disappear after having to re-submit an assessment?  I just marked a candidate's assessment, sent it back to him - and all he had to do was re-answer one question and re-submit.  When he did that all the answers from the other questions had gone.  I looked at attempt one and the assessment was blank - no answers; previously there were answers as I had marked and finalised the assessment.  Has anyone experienced this?
