It would be great if we could have a quick resource widget created, for example we have a few guides that would be handy for trainers to have access too often without having to search for them in the library and instead easily available on their desktops.

  This is a great idea, and similar to how a custom HTML block/widget can be created in Moodle for quick links and references all in one place.
