Learning plans created at unit level

Would it be possible to create a learning plan at unit level, currently as far as i am aware  learning plans can only be created at qualification level.

The issue is when the student is looking at thier learning plan view they are seeing all learning for a whole qual and this can look daunting.

Yes they can be hidden as completed and released at intervals, however in some cases we release upto 4 units at one time and this "looks" like a lot of work for the student.
