Custom Dashboard Widgets and Overall Admin Dashboards
We would really benefit from having the ability to create custom dashboard widgets, where we can:
- Add an iFrame
- Add simple custom content like a list of useful links for trainers etc
- Add a link to any area of the aXcelerate system e.g. a link to the Assessment area or a specific workshop (even if we are not the trainer).
Also, we would like an overall admin dashboard so that we can see all activities (assessments that require marking, upcoming workshops etc) for all trainers. The only way to achieve this at the moment is to make one person a "trainer for everything". This approach is risky, as it's misleading in terms of trainer competencies (trainers can only be added to workshops and assessments if they hold the competency to train and assess)...
Thoughts?

A customisable widget would be super handy!
A WYSIWYG text block widget would be a good starting point.
I can see being able to add text and links being useful for teams, in that default widgets for certain roles could include informative/instructional widget blocks, or links to commonly-used external resources.
I can also see this being useful on an individual user level - as in the example Liz gave, being able to include quicklinks to areas you personally access frequently would streamline your day-to-day work. Or even to just jot down notes/to-dos.
