Automatically commencing units on submission for first assessment

With the new learning plans there is the feature to automatically set a unit to CA (Continuing activity) once a student starts a unit. This is a great feature that we want to be able to use however it sets it as CA just by opening the assessment, not actually doing anything. We need to provide proof of participation in assessment before we can report a unit as in progress. It would be better if it changed to CA once a student submitted their first assessment linked to the unit.

  Hi Leisa

  Thank you for your feedback.

  We have designed that logic with our understanding of the NCVER definition for Continuing Activity in mind.

  That is, that CA applies as soon as a Learner has "engaged in learning activity".

  If we wait until submission to mark the unit as CA, a lot of learning could have already been undertaken and completed, so the CA status would have been incorrectly applied.

  Hopefully this makes sense.
