Attendance marking linked to status

I am sure I have requested this before, but why is the workshop attendance marking not linked to the student status for the workshop.  We have compulsory attendance for some workshops linked to accredited units. Having the workshop status updated at the same time as the attendance marking would save a great deal of time for facilitators/trainers.
