Ability to edit and remove Workshop Locations

Hi, Would like the the ability to delete obsolete Locations showing in the drop down list of the 'mandatory' Location field when creating a course.  This would prevent users selecting the wrong location.  Thank you

    Further to this - mainly Locations that have been created in error - never used.

    Hi Carmel & Pip

    You are actually able to remove values found within this field.
    It is simply a unique list of every location ever entered into that field. To remove values, you will need to find all workshop instances that have that location set, and clear it out of that field.

    I know this isn't ideal, and I'm certainly not trying to defend the functionality. I'll continue to push for this one myself for a future release!

    Fun fact - that field pre-dates my time at aXcelerate, so has been there for quite a while!

    Hi Mark, thanks for the tip on how to get rid of these extra locations. It's a good way for any locations that have only been used a couple of times accidentally. I'll see how many I can clean up this way.

    Is there any chance we could get workshop location added as a field on the bulk workshop updates in reports? That would help to make this a little quicker.

    That field has been there for a while! :)

    Hi Jo

    We've been working on an alpha solution for quite a few months that we're currently testing internally, but during the build we discovered some other blockers as a result of the change that need to be resolved before we can release it to our wider clientbase. Unfortunately these make the development effort even more significant than initially thought.

    One of the three blockers that we discovered have been resolved and we're currently working on the other two. 

    So in short, it's progressing well and something we can hopefully release in the next few months.

    Since the other thread is closed I'll respond here.

    I would still like at least a system settings to restrict Locations to their domain. When considering partners this actually causes a risk of leaking client details. All one partner would need to do is search a suburb and grab the list of all of the addresses that our network has delivered training to.

    I would hate to think our partners are likely to do this but it would put to ease the minds of these small businesses that have worked hard to build their client base.

    Hi Mark,

    Hope all is going well.

    Just reaching out to see if there's any update on the location update?

    As an aside, we are having difficulty when staff create workshops from the calendar as this shortened form does not include accredited delivery location - this is causing a lot of AVETMISS errors as staff are not going back to the workshop later to add the accredited delivery location from the full form.
