Allow students to see/view their submissions prior to being marked/assessed

Hi All

I have discovered today that students are unable to view any of their submitted work/evidence prior to it being marked/assessed. There would be no requirement for them to be able to delete anything, simply view it. 

Could we have the functionality of this added to the learner portat? (We are using legacy assessments so I am not referring to online assessments.) They would see the same as they see in their results tab once their assessment has been marked except it would be under the Submitted tab (within the Assessment tab). This will allow them to know exactly what they have submitted.  

As we know, it doesn't matter how many times you advise the students to keep a copy of all their submissions, they don't. If there is a place in the system that they can go to to view these documents, it would prevent any unnecessary duplicated submissions.

Along with this, it would save time for Admin staff as they would no longer need to take calls from students asking if they have submitted this document or that document.

  I agree. That would also be useful for the online assessments.

  Hi, I was about to submit a support ticket for this exact issue and a search in help has brought up the same issue.

  Just to advise the requirement in my case and give some context.

  - Students are doing their Personal Trainer Course. In Cert III in Fitness, they need to submit client data which contains their client's pre-screens, fitness appraisals and some session plans, etc.

  Students will complete this and then submit their work.

  - Students then in Cert IV need to immediately access this work and refer to it (pre-screen, fitness appraisals, weights lifted) to complete their PT sessions in the Cert IV in Fitness in a later program stage. 

  This now means that our admin or assessment team have to go in the back end and print the assessment (this is a good feature for admin, but to allow it for students would be good).

  An option in settings for the students to be able to see their submission would be great. I can understand some cases (like exams) that this information would need to be protected, but to have an option would be great.

  Hello! We would also like this feature in Online Assessments.

  • Our assessments have been set up where students are required to look back at previous assessments to get information to complete the task. 
  • Some of my trainers have over 50 students, so it can take them a week+ to get these marked and we don't want to hold up the students in progressing.
  • If there could be a read-only copy under the Submitted tab on the Learner Portal, that would be perfect.

  If you can think of another work around to assist us in the meantime, that would be awesome.

  Hello! Just following up on this.

  I understand that you may not want this for auto-marked questions, but when there aren't any, it would make sense for students to be able to refer back to their submission.
