Add Custom fields to Trainer and Workshop types
We need to display licence details for trainers on a Certificate template so we would like a custom field to be added for trainers and allow those to be a field that can be selected on a Certificate template.
We also want to add further information to our workshop types so it would be beneficial to also be able to add custom fields to this as well.

Hi Phillippa,
I'm not sure if this resolves your issue/will be too much additional work, but if your certificates are linked to units/a class, you would be able to create a custom field under class enrolments and you can use this to populate on the certificate (see screenshot below).

And you should definitely be able to add custom fields to your workshop - I'm just not sure if you can translate these custom fields to a certificate, if that's what is needed.

Thanks for the suggestion Tomo! :)
I could use the existing enrolment or class custom fields but the information I want to pull to the Certificate is relevant to the Trainer and with the existing custom fields I would need to create a different class per-trainer which is not an option I would like to look at because we often don't know who the trainer definitely will be until after the student is registered.
I've added the Trainers licence ID to the 'optional ID' field but I worry that could impact on possible NCVER reporting for those individuals.
I'm also keen to add custom fields to 'workshop types' instead of just a workshop as we are starting to use the fields on the workshop types to pull information to our templates so we can reduce our need to have a different template for each course. We have over 50 quals on our scope so it gets busy when we have templates per course.
I really appreciate your suggestions :)

Ah, gotcha. Yes, sounds like you know what you're doing.
In regards to Optional ID, at a previous RTO that also used aXcelerate, we used optional ID purely for internal purposes and never had any issues with our reporting, just an FYI.
Yes, custom fields against a workshop type would be a positive.
