It would be useful to have the option of adding tables with writable fields for students to complete as a question type. Gap text can be used in a table, however, it is limited to 1-2 word responses. It would be great if the student could provide short answers in table format.

  Great suggestion and it has been suggested before on our Ideas Forum.

  Has this issue been resolved as yet?  I can't seem to find any information on how to make these fields editable for the student.

  Hi Tracey, not sure if this is helpful, but to achieve a table with text fields for a student to complete I use

  • Marking Criteria or Online Quiz base assessment type
  • Choose question type as multi short answer
  • Add a table
  • Place short answer text boxes in any table field I want the student to complete
  • There are a couple of formatting tweaks that makes this neater
  • Students can then complete tables or simulated forms etc.
