Learner Portal
We use the Learner Portal for providing learning and assessment materials to our students (as well as for submission of assessments).
Currently if there is a unit in common across two different qualifications or programs, there is no way to set resources to display only to learners in one qualification/program and not the other.
An example is the unit "CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically", which is part of the Cert III in Early Childhood and the Cert III in Individual Support. As these programs are for completely different industry areas, the resources for the unit are different for each program. We would never have identical resources for a unit in different qualification/industry areas.
Another example is where an RTO might deliver the unit stand-alone or to different client-groups with contextualised resources.
We need there to be a way to limit the visibility of the resources to specific programs.
The only option we have available to us is to add to every single resource item a reference to the qualification/program. This is cumbersome to do, and also looks bad from the student's perspective - having to wade through a list of resources on the Subject Details page to find the ones that relate to their program. It also means students have access to resources that they are not meant to be given access to, which is an issue particularly for licensed resources.
