Merge Document - Record of contacts sent to within group

Is it possible to get a record of the recipients listed on the originators contact record when you send a merge document to a mail merge group. Currently it shows 'sent to 7 recipients'.  Is there a way this could link to the applicable contacts so you can track back to who you sent it to?
