Set a Lock Period
It would be useful if we could set a lock period similar to the way that MYOB, Xero and other accounting programs lock data from previous financial years.
This would basically be a setting to "lock all entries before xx/xx/xxxx" and would prevent all users from editing enrolment data prior to that date.
This feature would prevent any accidental / intentional changes to AVETMISS data which has already been reported without first seeking approval from admin users who have set the lock date. If changes needed to be made, the admins could edit the lock date > make the changes > resubmit updated AVETMISS data > return the lock date to the current period.

Just some background on this:
DET (Qld) are now validating applications for Certificate 3 Guarantee students against the AISS database. Where this database contains errors stating that students have previously completed qualifications when they actually only completed a partial qualification or did not complete the qualification at all (there are a lot of these errors) then the student needs to contact the RTO who reported the incorrect data and the RTO must resubmit the report with the correct data.
When we submit our final AVETMISS report for the year, I would like to lock that data so that if we have to resubmit a report from several years ago, I know that the only changes to the report are the ones that we are making to fix the data entry error and not also reporting other changes that people may have made in error.
Not that we have many data entry errors but they do happen and re-submitting old data has a lot of potential to cause more errors.
