    Hi Chris,

The new Report Builder supports downloading of reports to PDF, Excel and csv formats. Any older reports will soon be converted so they are available in the new framework.

I am assuming that you are using an older report. Which one specifically?

    Hi Michael,

Sorry, this was more for when the reports are sent through the workflow engine.

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for the suggestion. I am one of the developer who has worked on the workflow engine and new reporting framework.

The workflow engine uses our Reporting Queue to run reports. The queue was designed for big reports with potentially hundreds of thousands of rows. At the moment, as you have discovered, only CSV is supported as a large report could be very difficult for the system to render as a PDF. We would probably have to introduce a row limit on top of the ability to render PDF.

We will keep your suggestion in mind and see what kind of support it has from our community. In the meantime, I recommend opening in OpenOffice, Apple's Numbers or any other spreadsheet program. You don't have to use Excel.

    Regards,
    Scott

I'm with Chris - asked the exact same thing on Monday. Could the option to export to PDF be restricted to a certain amount of data? For our business for example, I'd be looking at having daily sales, monthly training reports generated as a PDF - not an entire client export.

    Hi Scott,

What Jared has stated is exactly what we are tying to do too, not looking for reports with 1000s of lines of data.
A restriction on lines sounds perfect for this.
