Student Course Status
AnsweredJust wondering if a status of Finished can be added to the course enrolment status as Finished and Completed are two different things. If a student has completed the time frame of the course but has not successfully completed the course requirements they are by definition not completed but they are also not deferred, suspended or cancelled. Having this option of Finished can help us to determine which of the students have not withdrawn from the course. Also a Withdrawn option would be helpful as well as Withdrawn and Cancelled are also different.

Hi All, further to Daymon's (excellent) response, we have also added an enrolment "status qualifier" for "In Progress - Pending Completion", which may help to meet the original requirement. As status qualifiers are a relatively new feature in aXcelerate, we welcome all suggestions for areas in which these can be utilised.

I've noticed that the "Cancelled" status has a number of sub-options:
Without Penalty/
With Penalty/
Transitioned/
Transferred/
With Award/
Without Award/
Withdrawn.
(These are shown in the field "Enrolment Status Qualifier" if you're looking for it in reports.)Agree with @Meena conceptually on organisation VS student withdrawal -- will using the sub-statuses help you @Meena? It's not an issue for us, because they all need a statement of attainment anyway (if they've completed at least one unit) regardless of who initiated the withdrawal.
Here is a "Course Enrolments and Outcomes Report" where I've added the 'Enrolment Status' and 'Enrolment Status Qualifier' fields:
http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4l0PgUBc1D-bXVEbkxhVW8tNzA .The sub-category's are less useful in a few places though -- such as if you wanted to send a class email/sms to a group of people with a particular sub-status (they all just show as "Cancelled" so you couldn't tick/untick very easily). Adding the sub-status to the class email/sms screen could be useful !!

"Cancelled - Time Elapsed" would be better wording/placement probably...
I would suggest that the original requirement (eg Finished / Time elapsed / Withdrawn by Organisation) should still be a sub-category of cancelled? Everyone who is In Progress is by definition Pending Completion so I'm not sure if adding sub categories to the In Progress top-level adds any value?
A student who has completed the time-frame of a course will ultimately be withdrawn (or "Cancelled - Time Elapsed") even if it was triggered by the organisation...
