Pre-Publish Quality and Compliance Checker for Assessments and Learning Resources
I would like to suggest adding a “Pre-Publish Quality Check” for online assessments, learning plans and learner resources.
Before an assessment or resource is published, aXcelerate could automatically scan the content and display warnings for possible setup issues, including:
• Questions with no response field or model answer
• Missing student or assessor instructions
• Observation criteria accidentally configured for student responses
• Missing or broken links and downloadable files
• Questions that are not mapped to assessment requirements
• Empty sections, duplicated questions or incomplete configuration
• Missing mandatory fields, declarations or signatures
• Resources using an outdated unit or qualification code
• Accessibility issues, such as images without alternative text
• Content or instructions intended for assessors being visible to learners
The results could be displayed as:
• Errors – must be resolved before publishing
• Warnings – should be reviewed but may be overridden
• Passed checks – configuration appears complete
Administrators should also be able to click each warning and go directly to the affected section.
At present, assessment developers often need to publish an assessment, create an instance or use a dummy learner account before discovering configuration and display problems. An automated quality check would reduce errors, prevent learner confusion and support stronger assessment validation and compliance processes.
It would also be helpful if a downloadable quality-check report could be generated and retained as evidence that the assessment was reviewed before publication.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
