Improved accessibility in aX assessments and learning plans to meet WCAG
PlannedAt present, the assessment and learning plan interfaces within the student portal are not operable via keyboard and are not fully compatible with screen readers. Improvements are urgently needed to keyboard navigation, semantic HTML (particularly heading structure), and overall screen-reader compatibility.
As an education provider, we are required to meet WCAG and ensure there are no accessibility barriers for students with disabilities and/or those who rely on assistive technologies to study.
As an LMS developer, it would be appreciated if aXcelerate could align with the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG), so that we are better supported in creating and delivering WCAG-compliant course content.

Hi Jessica
Thank you for your ideas forum post. We're currently in the process of undertaking a significant uplift to accessibility within the Learner Portal, working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance.
Note that a lot of improvements have already been released and a lot more are coming in the weeks and months ahead.
Let us know if there are any areas in particular within the Learner Portal that you've had feedback on.
Thanks

Hi Mark - our main problem is the assessments and learning plan areas. Neither are screen-reader friendly, the assessments cannot be navigated with a keyboard. The learning plan can, to some extent (minimal), but it fails to highlight drop-down elements or SCORM packages when using Tab to navigate.
I did log a ticket, but was advised to post here as there is no confirmed timeline for enhancements in the online assessment space or learning plan area.
