Calendar view - Pop-up box on/off toggle

How can I stop the huge pop-up boxes when looking at the calendar? It's not a very accessible display and is quite distracting and frustrating trying to view sessions through the month with a popup that comes up covering the whole page. Please advise us how to turn it off, or when an option to not have the giant pop-up is going to be happening.

  Totally agree, it would be a nice option to turn on or off.
