Opportunities VS Follow Ups
I was just speaking with Din from the support team, he asked me to jot down what we were speaking about here.
1. as is stands the follow up page (under marketing) shows follow ups and opportunities, the opportunity page only shows opportunities. So it seems to be a bit of a double up, would it be possible for the 'follow ups' that have a forecast opportunity to only show up in the opportunity page not the follow up page?
this would mean that follow ups could be used for admin team, and opportunities for sales team more clearly!
2. Under the opportunity page, the opportunity column comes from the description which is a free text field. Could we make enable an option to be a drop down box so you can decipher between products without the issue of having opportunities slightly spelt differently or with spaces where they shouldn't be etc.
Also, once an opportunity has been marked won, lost or abandoned the date shows up in the report in the red (overdue) status even though it might have been dealt with AND the task still remains. So once it has been marked as won, lost and abandoned would it be possible to then make the task completed automatically, stays in the report (not in red as an overdue opportunity) AND also keeps the tast in their profile as abandoned (or at least create an auto generated note that says this opportunity was marked abandoned on this date (or won or lost)).
Lastly, the amount (if recorded as 100%) shows up as $1500 x 100% = $1500. Little thing but when reporting, especially exporting, you cant use the excel auto sums.

Good idea.
Also, from an administrative management perspective - it gets very confusing for staff having "Follow Up Tasks" (User Tasks) coming under the Workflow area (which we limit staff access to) versus "Follow Ups" and "Opportunities" under the Marketing area.
Even more confusing is that Follow Up Tasks (User Tasks) have a Marketing heading which includes Opportunity forecasting elements!
Not to mention that our Online Applications for Enrolment are somehow aligned to Legacy Tasks (which act a little like Opportunities) but we cannot delete any of these even when multiples are created due to incomplete applications, then being followed up and completed (sometimes after several attempts) by students.
Seems like a big mess to us.
