Multiple students in a 'class' at different stages of completion

We have a 'class' set up in axcelerate with our distance students who are all at different stages of completion.

Some students are halfway through the course, some have just started. Some have paid in full, some are on a payment plan.

Is there a way to release assessments to students on the learner portal who are further ahead than other students in the same 'class'? So the students who are lagging behind or haven't paid cannot access assessments until we are ready to release them.

Does that make sense? So can students within the same class have their assessments made available to them on the learner portal at different times?
