Location field in workshop creation

We conduct a lot of short courses in different locations and are finding the 'location' field in workshops incredibly slow. I was wondering if there was a way that the location field could be linked to the domain and only filter the locations to the domain it is attached to. For us, that would potentially increase the speed as it wouldn't need to search as many existing locations.
