aXcelerate has the capability to manage Student bookings within a Moodle course. A Student within Moodle can also be imported into aXcelerate from Moodle Groups. This allows for a Moodle student booking to be mapped against the Moodle course within aXcelerate, the Moodle course can subsequently be mapped to an individual unit of competency within an aXcelerate class.
Courses
Create a Moodle Student Booking in an imported course
- Expand the Course Category containing the course you wish to enrol the student into
- Click the Magnifying Glass icon next to the desired Moodle Course
- Select the Students tab
- Click Enrol Student
- Select the Student and click Enrol Student
Tip: You will need to ensure that you have imported the Moodle Course into aXcelerate first. Please refer to our Moodle Course Management help article for further information.
Note: The contact must have a unique email address within aXcelerate in order to be enrolled into Moodle. When a student is enrolled into Moodle, aXcelerate will search for existing Moodle users sharing the same email address and use the existing contact if a match is found.
Warning: Selecting Access Start Date and/or Access End Date means that the student will only have access to Moodle within the selected date range. If the access end date is blank it will mean there is no cutoff date for enrolment.

- Click the Magnifying Glass icon next to the desired Moodle Course
- Select the Students tab
- Select the Un-linked tab to view students in Moodle but not yet imported into aXcelerate

View Students within an Imported Moodle Course

- Click the Magnifying Glass icon next to the desired Moodle Course
- Click the Students button
Tip: The class filter at the top of the page allows you to filter students by their aXcelerate class. If you have set up the Single Sign-On (SSO) feature you can also SSO into Moodle as the student by clicking the Moodle Icon on this page. Update a Moodle Enrolment
- Expand the Course Category containing the course you wish to view
- Click the Magnifying Glass icon next to the desired Moodle Course
- Click the Students button
- Click the Update Icon
- Update the relevant information
- Click Submit
Warning: Updating the Student’s Moodle enrolment in aXcelerate will also update the enrolment data within Moodle. If updated within Moodle alone, the information will not update in aXcelerate as the student has already been created within aXcelerate. Any changes made in Moodle first will also need to be adjusted within aXcelerate manually. We recommend updating linked data from aXcelerate to avoid this.
View a Student’s Enrolment and Gradebook
- Expand the Course Category containing the course you wish to view
- Click the Magnifying Glass icon next to the desired Moodle Course
- Click the Students button
- Click on the name of the Student you wish to view
- Click the Moodle Gradebook dropdown icon to load the gradebook
Tip: A green tick indicates that the student has passed their Moodle assessment items. A red cross means they have not passed. If a grey cross appears then no grade has been set to pass, if you hover over the grey icon you will be able to see the mark.
Note: Gradebook Data is not stored within aXcelerate, it is pulled from Moodle each time you visit the Student enrolment page. This may take some time to load.
Warning: You are unable to grade or mark a Moodle assessment within aXcelerate. All grading must be done within Moodle.
