Templates are HTML documents that incorporate plain text, images, tables and text fields that pull from your aXcelerate system. These documents can be sent out to contacts directly or in an automated capacity.
Courses
Templates are a powerful tool that can be used throughout many areas of the system. Templates can:
- Standardise and increase the efficiency of your communications
- Configure automated responses
Create a Template
- Select Add New Template
- Enter a Name
- Assign the template to a Category
- Set the Orientation of the template
- Add the relevant content to the Header, Body and Footer of the template
- Click Save or Save & Close
Tips: Select the Source button to directly edit the HTML code of the template.
Note: You can preview your templates by selecting the Preview icon in the list of templates.
Update a Template
- Select the Update icon next to the template you wish to update
- Make any changes to the template settings or content as required
- Click Save or Save & Close
Note: If you are unable to find the template it may have been deactivated. Deactivated templates can be viewed by selecting the Inactive tab above the list of templates
Duplicate a Template
- Select the Duplicate icon next to the template you wish to copy
- Click the Update icon next to your duplicated template
- Make any changes to the template settings or content as required
- Click Save or Save & Close
Tip: We recommend that you change the name of the duplicated template to avoid confusion with the original.
Note: When duplicating a template, clicking the Duplicate icon will create a new version of the selected template with '_duplicate' appended to the name.
Delete a Template
- Select the Delete icon next to the template you wish to remove from the system
- Click Ok to confirm that you wish to delete the selected template
Tip: You may wish to deactivate the template if you do not want it permanently deleted.
Warning: Once a template has been deleted it cannot be retrieved or recovered.
Deactivate and activate a Template
- Select the Deactivate icon next to a template
- View deactivated templates by selecting the Inactive tab above the list of templates
- Select the Activate icon next to the deactivated template you wish to reactivate
Tip: You can view deactivated templates by selecting the Inactive tab above the list of templates.
Note: Inactive templates will not appear in lists of available templates in other areas of the system.
Warning: Deactivating templates that are used in other areas of the system will cause the template to not be sent.
Create a Template Category
Template categories can be created to organise the various types of Templates that you have created in the system. A category can be assigned when creating or updating a template.
- Click Add New Category
- Set a Category Description
- Click Submit
Update a Template Category
- Click the Update icon next to a Category
- Change the Category Description
- Click Submit
Delete a Template Category
- Click the Delete icon next to a Category
- Click Ok to confirm the deletion.
Note: A Template Category cannot be deleted if it is associated with one or more Templates in the system.
