Organisations will often have a large number of staff regularly completing training and recertification activities.
The Competency and Authorisation matrices have been created to allow Managers and Administrators the ability to quickly identify skill gaps and any workers who may be at risk of their Role becoming invalid, which would cause any linked Authorisation to be revoked.
The Training Needs Analysis matrix has been designed to show each worker's progress against the competencies their roles require. Use it to find training gaps across one role or several roles at once.
Note: Data within each Matrix is cached overnight similar to warehoused reports.
Competency Matrix
The Competency Matrix allows Managers and Administrators to view the current state of Competency validity recorded against multiple Workers within a singular dashboard.
Workers are listed within the left side of the table while the Competencies are located along the top row of the table.
Workers can be searched for using the Search bar and can be grouped by Primary Organisation using the Group by filter.
Note: Hovering over the Competency icon will display the name of the Competency in an info bubble while hovering over the icon within the Competency box will display the current status of the relevant Worker.
The main Competency Statuses are:
In-Progress
Applies when a worker has started an activity linked to the competency but has not yet completed the activities or achieved the Competency.
Pending
Applies if the activity has been completed by the worker but must be manually approved by their manager. This would occur if a rule has been set against the Competency.
Achieved
Applies if the worker has successfully completed all requirements for the Competency and all are currently valid.
Revoked
Applies if Competency Achievement has been manually revoked by a Manager.
Authorisation Matrix
Workers can be searched for using the Search bar and can be grouped by Primary Organisation using the Group by filter.
It is also possible to filter by Authorisation using the + Select Authorisation option in the top right of the Matrix.
Tip: Hovering over the Authorisation icon will display the full title of the Authorisation.
Tip: Hovering over the status icon of the Authorisation will display the full title of the current status.
Training Needs Analysis Matrix
The Training Needs Analysis (TNA) Matrix shows workers' training needs across one or more roles in a single view. Use it to see which required competencies each worker has met, and where the gaps are.
Each row displays a worker, and each column, a competency required by the selected roles. With more than one role selected, columns are listed A to Z by competency code. Hover over any cell to see all of its values, and use the legends in the Display menu to check what each colour and abbreviation means.
Workers can be searched for using the Search bar and can be grouped by Primary Organisation using the Group by filter.
If a worker holds the same competency in more than one selected role, the cell shows the strictest obligation. Roles you haven't selected aren't included.
Obligation
Meaning
Mandatory
Required for every worker in the role.
Required
An additional competency this worker must hold.
Ignored
An additional competency that isn't tracked for this worker.
Exporting to CSV
You can export the Competency, Authorisation or Training Needs Analysis Matrix to a CSV file, for gap reports or for sharing outside aXcelerate. The export matches the view you've set up on screen.
Export to CSV:
Select the matrix and set up the view you need, including any roles, filters and columns
Select Export. Preparing export will be displayed while the file is being created
When the export is ready, select Download. The report queue opens in a new tab
Download the file from the report queue. If it shows as waiting, refresh the page
Note: Exporting requires access to reports. Exports can include up to 1,000 columns. If you export again without changing your filters or display options, the existing file is reused.
